The Campaign
Freedom of Information is a cornerstone of an open and accountable government. Knowledge is power, and citizens who wish to play an active role in their governance must equip themselves with accurate information about government and its activities.

While BC’s FOI Act was originally heralded as one of the most thorough and effective Acts of its kind, it has since come under attack by both NDP and Liberal administrations. The Campaign for Open Government has been launched in order to inform citizens of the importance of the FOI Act, defend the act from those in government who would dismantle it, and reform the current administration’s obstructionism towards individuals and groups that request information under the Act.
